My Argument Against Socialism
In addition to Hurricane Sandy, the continued big news is the election. The presidential vote is one between voting for the incumbent who will continue leading us down the path of socialism or electing Romney who will begin giving rights back to the state and shrink federal government.
There are well meaning American’s on both sides of the issues who care for their county passionately, but simply have opposing ideas of what is best for it. While I respect all their ideas, I feel very strongly about avoiding socialism for one main reason: It breeds complacency. If people have a roof over our head and bread on the table, even a flimsy roof and cheap bread, why should anyone strive to improve their abilities, develop their talents and become all they are capable of becoming, which includes becoming financially successful? As a personal empowerment specialist I know that until life gets a bit tough for people, people won’t look into their lives, examine the tapes that run their lives to see which tapes are holding them back from being all they were intended to be, nor do anything else to become self-actualized.
The whole purpose of life is to discover our own hidden abilities and powers and the peace and happiness they bring. Socialism thwarts the incentive to do what we came to this planet to accomplish, thus wasting our turn on earth.
